Apply to Master of Micro and Nano Systems Technology

The Master of Micro and Nano Systems Technology is a 120 ECTS program, taught in English. The applicants have to fulfill the academic requirements as well as document their proficiency in English. Note: The Directorate of Immigration has also specific rules for students outside EU/EEA concerning proof of subsistence.

Academic Requirements for Admission to Master of Micro and Nano Systems Technology

An active student at the renroom.Academic requirements: Bachelor's in Engineering from a 3-year education in Microtechnology or Electronics/ Electrical Engineering. A Bachelors degree in other engineering disciplines, or in natural sciences, gives the basis for admission after an individual assessment. Special entrance requirements are study in mathematics equivalent to the electives Mathematics 3, and a course in Electrostatics. Applicants who do not fulfil the special requirements may take these qualifying courses during the first year of the master's degree program.

In some cases with applicants from non-European countries, the first (and sometimes the second) year of study at a foreign higher education institution will not be recognized as higher education in Norway.

Admission to the study program requires an average grade from a relevant bachelor degree equivalent to or better than a C in the Norwegian system (> 60%).

Application Deadline

The application deadline for for 2012 are 1st of February 2012, The supporting documents must arrive at Vestfold University College 14 days after you submitted your online application.

Applying for Master's studies is a two-step process:

1. Submit the online application form

2. Send signed attestation form (pdf) and required supporting documents

All supporting documents must have reached the admission office 14 days after you submittet your online application. Late or incomplete applications will not be processed.

Checklist before you send your documents

Two students are working together. Your application should include:

  • Signed attestation form
  • Official certified copy ofpassport
  • Recent photograph attached to attestation form
  • Official credentials from your secondary and tertiary education in original language with a certified translation to English or a Scandinavian language (diplomas and transcripts or relevés de notes). These should preferably be sent directly to us from the issuing institution.
  • English language proficiency test score (sent directly to us from issuing institution), see English proficiency requirements 
  • For non-EU/EEA applicants: Official copy of bank statements which document the possession of at least NOK 90 500 per year of study, or official copy of documentation of grant/scholarship.

Requirements for Residence Permit/Visa for Study Purposes

Interview

The final selection of the otherwise qualified candidates may be partly based on an interview by telephone.
