ICT Services for students

New students

This is what you, as a new student at Vestfold University College, must do:

1. Follow this link to register / activate your student account
2. Go to StudentWeb and log in using the username and password you created in step 1

Should you want to change your password you have to go to https://student.hive.no/ and choose “kontoadministrasjon” (account administration). The new password will work immediately.

Your ID will work with the following services:

• StudentWeb (here you can find your grades, study courses, exam dates, signing up for exam, your personal information etc.)
• Fronter (a learning platform used by many faculties)
• Live@edu (new email system from March 15th 2010) (http://outlook.com/student.hive.no)
• Your own web space at student.hive.no
• VPN
• DotX Wireless network
• SSH/SFTP logg in at student.hive.no
• Account administration at https://student.hive.no/
• Printing/copying

If you need help with computer related issues contact the Student Assistance by e-mail : studenthjelp@hive.no, via MSN (add contact Studenthjelp@hive.no and describe your problem briefly in the personal invitation),  or go visit them at the 2. floor at the library.

Confirming your "Study Plan"

The semester registration on Studentweb is open from August 15, 2011.  

For students with a “Study plan”/Utdanningsplan:

·         Log onto Studentweb

·         Select “Semesterreg./study plan” in the menu

·         Check in  your study plan which subjects/courses you will be taking this semester, alternatively add electives

·         Confirm your study plan

·         Register other information, e.g. your semester address

For students without a “Study plan”

·         Log onto Studentweb

·         Select “Semesterreg./utd.plan” in the menu

·         Sign up for classes and exams for the Fall semester unless you already are enrolled/registered. If you already are registered, this will be shown in the first log-in picture on your screen.

·         Register other information, e.g. your semester address

Please note!

If your study plan is incorrect for the Fall semester 2011, you must contact your faculty. The study plans are currently under revision and may thus include deficiencies in other semesters.

For Quota Students especially

Please note that we advise you to register as quickly as possible to avoid any delays. Paid semester fee and semester registration gives you the status of “active student” and this is reported directly to the State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen). Please be aware that it may take a few days from the registration is finalized until you receive your first funding for the semester.
