The Institute for Microsystems Technology (IMST)

Sist oppdatert 28.05.2010 av Birgit Andrine Apenes Solem

IMST, represents the country’s largest academic environment within microsystems technology and is one of the largest research environments within micro and nanosystems. IMST has built up expertise at international level within the specialised area of building methods for micro and nanosystems.

The board of directors agreed on a strategic commitment to microsystems technology at Vestfold University College (VUC) in 2001. Activities started in 2002. It has been built up through a coordinated national commitment to microtechnology, in which UiO, NTNU, SINTEF and Vestfold are partners.

Services

IMST offers a range of services related to our research group and laboratories. The main areas are designing, modelling, characterisation and construction of prototypes and the manufacture of small series.

What is micro and nanotechnology?

Micro and nanotechnology is knowledge about how products are made in micrometre and nanometre scales. HVE is the only university college in the country that is included in the Research Council of Norway’s new “National Strategy for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology” plan.

The only university college that offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees

HVE is the only university in the country that gives you the opportunity to study for a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in micro and nanosystems technology. We carry out R&D within micro and nanotechnology and microsystems technology and focus on design, integration, packaging and new applications. Read our Masters in Micro and Nanotechnology brochure (pdf).

    Supersymmetri og teknologi

    20.01.2012
