This module introduces students to e-Government and e-Democracy.

About the module

The module is normally given as a set of lectures and a three-day comprehensive seminar.
e-Government is the use of ICT by public administration to provide services to its citizens.  e-Democracy is the use of ICT to influence political decision making.

The module gives a general introduction to e-Government and e-Democracy, and continues with the following themes:
  • Evaluation and benchmarking
  • Portals and application intergration
  • Accessibility
  • Transparency
  • Efficiency
  • Impact
  • Practical examples of e-Government services
  • Democratic ideals
  • Use of ICT to improve democracy
 
Exam information
Two required assignments 
Three-hour written school exam
Assessment and grading: course grades awarded from A to E, F for fail. 

Target Groups

The module is interdisciplinary, and targets students from social sciences,
business administration and information systems.
