European Commission libraries database

ECLAS stands for European Commission Library Automated System. The ECLAS Catalogue lists the holdings held by RéseauBIB, the collaborative network associating the European Commission's Central Library and the libraries or documentation centres in its Directorates-General or departments.

More specifically, ECLAS lists the complete holdings of the Central Library since 1978. The library holdings corresponding to the 1958-1978 period are not included in the ECLAS database although this material can be consulted in the card catalogues available on microform in the reading rooms.

The catalogue also includes partial holdings of many DG libraries. More DG libraries are now entering details of their stock into ECLAS, so that, in time, ECLAS will gradually become a union catalogue for the entire RéseauBIB network.
