Information about Emergency Contraception
Emergency contraception (in Norwegian: Angrepille) is available at the pharmacy or pharmacy outlets in grocery stores. One does not need to have a prescription and there is no age limit for buying. They cost about kr. 150, -. It's not all stores o.l. that sell emergency contraception. Emergency contraception should be used only in emergencies and does not replace the contraceptive.
The hormones in the pill reduce the risk of ovulation before the egg attaches itself to the uterus.
It is important to note that with emergency contraception must be taken no later than 72 hours after unprotected intercourse, and condom break during intercourse. The package consists of a pill that can be taken within 12 hours, and as mentioned, at the latest within 72 hours. It is important to be quick because the treatment is much more effective the sooner the tablet is taken. Emergency contraception does not prevent pregnancy in all cases, but reduces the risk.
Some experience nausea when using emergency contraception. If you vomit within two hours taking the pills, you need to take new ones.
After taking the emergency contraception, the use of condom or sexual abstinence until the next menstrual period is recommended.
One should not take more than such a pill per cycle.
There are no serious side effects of these pills, but common side effects may include: breast pain, delayed menstruation, heavy menstruation, irregular bleeding, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, pain in the lower part of stomach, headache, fatique, dizziness.
If in doubt about the pregnancy (menstrual delay of more than five days) it is necessary to rule out pregnancy with a pregnancy test.

You may get some of your health care expenses from dentists, doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists or chiropractors refunded by SIV. Contact the office to get application forms and terms.
