Social Activities

Sist oppdatert 28.07.2011 av Maija Heinilä

We are trying our best to make sure you have an ample opportunity to enjoy activities also outside your studies.

NOTE: Activities arranged especially for international students are listed in What's On?

Student House

"Teknikerhuset" is the oldest student house in Norway. It has served as a student meeting place since 1926.

Sports

The Student Society offers a wide variety of sport groups for students. If you are a member in the Student Society you are welcome to participate in these groups. The Student Society arranges a yearly trip to a popular winter sport resort, Hemsedal, as well.

As a student at VUC you will get a good discount at the training facility called TRIMHUSET HORTEN.

Digital Newspaper

If you wish to volunteer at the student newspaper, kindly contact the Student Society.

Finance and Stock Trading Group

Our Finance and Stock Trading Group is offering courses, workshops and excursions  to students who are interested in economics, finance and stock markets.

Concerts

The Student Society arranges concerts every month in both Tønsberg and Horten. Keep an eye on these web pages: Samfunnet.

Student Bars ("Kro")

Every other Thursday evening hundreds of students get together at the Student Bar in Harbour Bar near the piers in Tønsberg.  It is an excellent way to make new friends and get to know the Norwegian social scene.

Crews

In order to really make the best out of the Student Society you should volunteer to work in one of the "Crews" which organize student bars, concerts, marketing and managing the Student House in Horten.  You will get especially good membership benefits that way....

Studentsamfunnet.no

The Student Society is located by the Student Cafeteria at Campus Bakkenteigen. Go to the office and buy the membership card  - it costs only NOK 175 per semester - NOK 350 per year. Come and get to know the Student Society!
