The foreign exchange students that participated in the evaluation had taken either Business courses, Clinical Practice for student nurses, Outdoor education and Experimental learning, Technological Project, Nordplus, English, Maritime courses or engineering courses. Most of them had taken basic language course in Norwegian as well.
The great majority were very happy with the length of their stay, the information they received from us and from their own institution. They were also happy with the Orientation day at the beginning of the term.
They were fairly happy with the housing that was arranged for them, but found it expensive.
When it comes to the teachers, the students were asked to compare the teachers in Vestfold with the ones at home. 1/4 of the students found the Norwegian teachers better at teaching, nearly half the foreign students thought the Vestfold teachers were better at inspiring and motivating, and in using modern teaching tools.
Questioned on availability and academic standards, the teachers in Vestfold were rated on level with the ones at home.
The work load here and at home were estimated to be approximately the same.
The foreign students were very happy with their own personal growth and with their independence (100 % say Good or As expected), they have gained cultural understanding and language skills (92 % say Good or As expected), and the score for new friends is 76 % saying Good or As expected.
The foreign students I Vestfold say they think study abroad will help their career, and 96 % of them would recommend Vestfold University College to friends at home.

- The answers show us that we have a very competent and conscientious staff in education and training, we have student buddies facilitating the stay in a foreign country, and we are able to give the foreign students a great study abroad-experience.
- There is always room for improvement, and all the results are being put in good use in further developing our programs. Our foreign students are important to us, and to the whole student body at Vestfold. Their satisfaction and happiness is our goal, she concludes.
